We recently engaged the services of O’Shea Plumbing for a complex sewer and drain issue, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish.

Upon responding to my initial email enquiry, Steve, the company director, dedicated several hours of his time when he personally came over to assess our situation in detail. Our weatherboard house is situated on quite reactive soil, and I wanted a new solution involving in ground swivel and expansion joints to help mitigate future sewer line issues due to ground movement. While other plumbers I had reached out prior weren’t responsive to the idea, Steve had the experience, knowledge, and willingness to implement the ideal engineering fix to our situation and gave us complete confidence in moving forward. It was clear from the outset that Steve was committed to delivering thoughtful, thorough, and long-lasting solution. While any work of this nature would require a major investment, the costing was actually very competitive, and Steve was accommodating to help us undertake the project within our budget.

To the plumbers tasked with delivering the outcome, Christian and Marcus arrived promptly each day and conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism. They worked efficiently and with great care, ensuring each stage was completed to the highest standard. The boys worked tirelessly in very challenging conditions, from excavating almost 3 metres deep to replace our boundary trap, to spending several days under our house in tight and dusty conditions building a brand-new drainage system for the entire house. Throughout the process, they were respectful of our property, always friendly with our two young and very inquisitive boys and kept us informed every step of the way with lots of photos of the work as it progressed. A very big and sincere thank you to both Marcus and Christian, as well as Mickey helping on site and Mark in the office for promptly communicating with me throughout the process.

The combination of Steve’s expert guidance and the skilled execution by Christian and Marcus made what could have been a very stressful situation feel entirely manageable. While this project is now complete, I’m happy to have found O’Shea plumbing to help with us with ongoing works as part of our house renovations.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their team to anyone seeking reliable, honest, and high-quality plumbing services.

I have used O’Shea Plumbing on multiple occasions, from small jobs like fixing a leaking toilet to larger projects such as gutter replacement, double storage gutter replacement, roof downpipe installation, back tray chimney work, and apron flashing. Every time, their service has been outstanding.

Dave (the superstar kiwi) and his team of plumbers at O’Shea Plumbing did a great job at our place. We discovered a gas leak at our 1960s home late on a Friday afternoon. Dave came around promptly and put together a solution and quote for the services very quickly. We decided to replace our hot water system at the same time. This wasn’t the easiest job given that the team had to work 3 floors up! We were out of gas (so no hot water or cook top/oven) with a 6 week old baby for several days so O’Shea bumped us to the top of the priority list and got the works done quickly. Their customer service is second to none. Every employee is wonderful to deal with. The team even organised some top soil to fill up some divots left by the boom lift. You don’t often find that level of consideration from tradies. We’ll definitely use O’Shea Plumbing again.
We’ve also used O’Shea Electrical to install our AC system. Also a great experience!

I had extensive plumbing works over many days to fix my stormwater, including new gutters and downpipes, new inground pipes, and replumbing of garage roof. I was kept informed of dates and times, and what would be done with written quotes. All plumbers were polite, informed and have done great work (no more leaks or floods and all water drains along my new pipes.) They also cleaned up after themselves!

Quoted over $1500 for installation of a gas bbq, including new pipework, altering the existing foundation, etc. In the end it only required a very simple attachment change, about $5 in materials and 5 minutes of labour. The plumber inspected my house and was visually evaluating the place before deciding on how much work was needed and how much to charge. They made a 10 minute phone call at the site, far away so I couldnt hear, while I waited outside. Very folksy customer service hiding pretenses. This is either gross overquoting or profession incompetence in evaluation. Get multiple quotes like the other reviews mention. If they ask if you've got other quotes the answer is always no.

This was two years ago but it's still in my mind and so now you've got a negative review for the waste of time.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Callum came out to fix what looked like a roof leak, only to find major structural defects on the roof. Then he came back a second day with his boss, prepared a Roof Inspection Report and (rather than trying to keep the job) talked me through the process of making a complaint to the VBA about the original plumbing work. Having dealt with a few plumbers recently, have to say O'Shea have been by far the most trustworthy and reliable.

Absolutely nothing to fault with the team. Daniel Carfora was clear and patient fielding all my queries and fully transparent with all the quotes he put out. Not once I felt I was imposing from all the asking.
Scott, Brenton and DK were efficient on the day of works. Genuinely friendly and mindful of us having our shoes off in our house, they took them off whenever they are inside (even though we did not request for them to). More importantly, they left no (literally zero) mess behind. Not even a piece of packaging.
I don’t know if they are the most competitive in pricing within the market but they are certainly one of the few trades team I am at ease with them working on our house.

We had a plugged sewer pipe which was in fact caused by a 2.5m long mesh of roots in the south east water sewer. Richard cleaned up, took photos of the roots and wrote the email to the water company which initiated a response ant the removal of the roots within the following 2 days.

It was a big job that included a bunch of different things and I live quite far away from Central Melbourne so I really appreciated that the guys were there 5 days straight starting from 7am.

I was absolutely blown away with the service and the work of everyone that was involved with what I thought was going to be a routine job that turned into a job that was anything but routine.

There were so many people that worked on the gas plumbing issues that I had that I can’t remember everyone’s name but the whole team was professional, friendly and just got on with the job. In particular, Duncan was incredible and kept in touch throughout the job to make sure everything was going to plan and we spoke a number of times after the first day. I cannot thank him enough for the way he went way above and beyond to help with so much more than the gas plumbing and he made sure that everything ran very smoothly. Scott also went above and beyond and I really appreciated all of the time and effort he spent and the work that he did.

When the gas plumbing merged in with an electrical issue, they sent out their electricians and I was so impressed with them that I will be asking them to do the additional electrical work I need doing on the house.

From the first contact with Anne over the phone who was extremely helpful it just got better and better.
We discovered a leak and we’re concerned it was going to be a big job with water gushing from the front of our house.
When we asked Anne on the phone what the call out fee was we were shocked when she told us there was no call out fee (amazing).
We were told that Dave would arrive between 12-2pm and then he even called to let us know he was on his way (another impressive and unexpected surprise).
Before Dave arrived we suspected the leak was coming from our neighbours property and spoke to her and so when Dave arrived (super friendly and on time) he checked out water pressure and gave us the great news that we didn’t have blockage/ leak.
Dave then went and checked our neighbours situation and discovered there was a back yard tap that had been left on and causing the water to leak down into our place.
The next amazing thing was that when our neighbour asked for the bill for his time and travel there was no charge!!!! 🤯❤️Because there was no repair there was no cost.
This level of service blows our mind and I am making sure every single local social media page and person I know hears about our experience and how well this company treats people. There is a reason why their google reviews are so good.. legit legends!

Had a wet spot in the garden near where the mains runs to the house. Asked to dig and look for a problem. Was told that that was an unlikely way to find the issue, was told it could be storm water or nations. They'd do a test, $1500 later no faults found.
I spent 45 minutes digging the hole by myself. Found the issue. The mains had a leak when the pipe was joined together.
Found another plumber to fix the issue for $200.
Incredibly annoyed at the time and money I wasted.

We engaged The Local Plumber company for issues with a leaking valve to our gas hot water system.

Regrettably the first plumber ‘sabotaged’ our gas hot water system and surreptitiously shut down the gas, rendering us without hot water and leaving us with a quote of around $2500 for a new unit.

To get a second opinion, we engaged O’Shea plumbing. Josh attended. He was very professional, polite, skilful, and an excellent communicator. Josh was able to restart our hot water system and change over the leaking valve for a few hundred dollars. Our gas hot water system was fine and didn’t require replacement

We highly recommend Josh for his honesty, integrity and his professionalism. And we recommend O’Shea plumbing. Booking a plumber via their call centre was a pleasant experience - good old fashion, friendly service. We would definitely use O’Shea plumbing again.

Very professional and genuine. I had a plumber come out to quote me for installations of 2 washing machines. And I had the job booked and paid deposit. But since it was a new build and appropriate plumbing wasn’t done in first place. I went to my builder, who then agreed to fix it for me. Our drains were severely blocked to the point the sewerage water was coming out of the shower drain. To make matters worse it happened on the weekend. My hot water service died on the Friday night. Rang O'Shea's Plumbing on Sunday Morning. My call was answered immediately and the receptionist was very pleasant and empathetic. I organised for a plumber to come out on Monday morning between 10 and 12 and that my plumber would call 30 min before. I received a call that morning just after 9:30 from Cam. He was very friendly and advised he was on his way. On arrival, he was very friendly and genuine. He gave me an honest up front quote on the spot and fully explained what was required. He also advised that he needed to check my gas metre and gas lines which may cost extra if there were leaks detected. (Thankfully all good). He provided a number of options and choices with good pricing. Most importantly he was able to do the works that day. Payment was easy with EFTPOS available, 20% deposit and balance on completion of the job. Finally his work was neat and tidy and all rubbish removed and he fully explained hot to check and relight the pilot. Very happy. Would recommend O'Shea's Plumbing and will use them again.
